Rules

  • NW group membership is open to everybody who is interested in modelling in 1:22 or thereabouts.
  • Membership of the national society is not required but will be encouraged!
  • There is no separate membership fee for NW membership.
  • All visitors are required to sign the attendance book at all our meetings. Unless visitors are signed in, they are not covered by the G-Scale society insurance.
  • All visitors are expected to pay the current admission fee as determined by the NW Group committee.
  • Visitors under the age of 16 are admitted free but MUST be signed in.
  • Personal belongings (including rolling stock) are NOT insured by the society and the NW Group nor G-Scale Society cannot be held liable for any loss or damage however caused.
  • The NW group produces a quarterly newsletter which is supplied free to all members who attend at least one NW function per year.
  • Members who cannot attend meetings but still wish to be kept on our mailing list are asked to provide 12x second class stamps to help offset production costs.
  • Each December the register is analysed and those who no longer attend or keep in touch are removed from the mailing list. (This has to be done or we would be sending out almost 400 newsletters each time, just to Society members living within ‘our’ area.)
  • The newsletter carries paid adverts, the current rate (01.05) being £10.00 full page, £5.00 half page and £2.50 for a quarter page.
  • Members may advertise for free any item wanted or for sale in the ‘small ads’ section.
  • The venue for the indoor meetings is totally NO SMOKING. (visitors wishing to smoke may do so outside but please do not litter the ground with any rubbish)
  • Tables and chairs are provided for you to have refreshments at, please try to use them!
  • Visitors wanting to run their own stock must ‘log in’ and book a slot on the running timetable.
  • Anybody wishing to have a trial run before selling or purchasing stock should negotiate with whoever has the current running rights. In the longer term, we hope to set up a separate test track for such events.
  • The track is powered by conventional DC and the supplies are capable of delivering 10 amps on each of the two circuits. Please ensure your rolling stock is compatible with this. All axels must be insulated or the power supply will break the NO SMOKING rule and weld your prize exhibit to the track.
  • Well behaved children (and dogs) are welcome and indeed encouraged at our meetings. A ‘responsible adult’ is expected to be just that and ensure any children in his or her care do not come to any harm or cause any damage, nuisance or injury.
  • Some outdoor venues are unsuitable for children. If a host suggests this is the case, please respect that.
  • Most OUTDOOR events start at 2pm. Please try not to be too early!
